Due to the complex design of the ENFit® Connector, cleaning and removal of nutritional formula from the ENFit is more difficult and the risk of biological contamination could increase.
Conventional cleaning methods (cottons balls, cotton swabs, wipes, toothbrushes and Interdental brushes) are less effective since they can not make contact with the difficult internal ENFit geometries, Such as the bottom moat and the undersides of the internal screw threads.
Of particular concern is the accumulation of biofilm producing organisms on the underside surfaces of the internal screw threads. Visual inspection will not be able to detect this hidden potential source of contamination.
The Patented EnClean Brush is designed to fit between, over and under the internal ENFit® threads and clean all the way to the bottom moat area of the EnFit® Connector. It removes debris and thoroughly cleans the internal threads of the EnFit Connector.
It features a self centering catheter feeding lumen occluder to keep cleaning solution and bioactive debris from entering into the catheter and possibly causing illness.
EnClean® brush bristles are made using a germ-resistant Nylon® fiber material. This will help mitigate the likelihood of germs growing on the bristles in-between uses.
The reusable Cap has ventilation holes to assist in the drying of the EnClean® Brush in-between uses. The Cap will also allow the EnClean® Brush to be stored in the upright position if desired.
A lanyard is included to allow for the EnClean® Brush to be hung on IV poles, etc.
The EnClean® reusable version is designed to last for a minimum of 30 days, when cleaned according to IFU, and is intended for maximum cleaning and time efficiency in the Hospital, Nursing Home and Home-care environments.
EnClean Brushes can be purchased as single direct to consumer packs or in boxes of 10 for medical facilities.
EnClean Brushes are USA FDA Class I devices and are CE/MDR Certified in the European Union.
